Mark Sexson was the founder and Mrs. Marie Renda (2006-2008) is Supreme Worthy Advisor, and to the Grand Jurisdiction of Texas of which Mrs. Marlene Dibrell, is our Supreme Deputy, and Sister Shelley Ashcraft (2007-2008) is our Grand Worthy Advisor.


New Braunfels Assembly #277, International Order of Rainbow for Girls was instituted on November 7, 1956 at a called meeting of New Braunfels Chapter #771, Order of the Eastern Star under the direction of Mrs. Martha Marie Whitfield, Supreme Inspector in Texas, Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Letters Temporary were read and the following girls received the Instituting Obligation, making them Charter Members of the Assembly: Virginia Sue Elder, Carolyn Frances Gofthardt, Lou E. Denmark, Nancy Made Worley, Geraldine Knowles, Margie Kimmel, Rae Ann McFarlane, Nancy Jo Tiemann, Ginger Richter, Susan West, Martha Jo Staats, Beatrice Kohls, Leatdce Kohls, Sharon Ann Madon, Sara Kaye Winegeart, Jo Ann Penshom, Sherry Beisser, Dorothy Beard, Martha Ann Gofthardt, Judy Lee Karback, Ruby Davis, Alice Ann Eickenroht, Diana Jane Engel, Elefte Sue Knox, Jo Ann Nowothy, Janelle Piffman, Mary Lou Schmidt, and Beverly Jean Zipp.
A very impressive Installation of Officers followed the Instituting with Virginia Elder being installed Worthy Advisor and Miss Katherine Cofton, the first Mother Advisor of New Braunfels, L. T. Miss Cofton had been a Rainbow Girl In Arkansas. A special meeting was held in Sequin on November 14, 1956 for the purpose of initiating the previously named Charter Members of New Braunfels Assembly, L. T. and the first meeting of the new assembly was held on November 26.
The Assembly was Constituted the following year on December 9, with Mrs. Whitfield presenting the Charter in an impressive ceremony. Over the years since its inception the Assembly has been continuously active, and now meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month. The Assembly has been honored with many Grand Appointments and has enjoyed the leadership of many fine Mother and Worthy Advisors. Mrs. Susan Patton is the current Mother Advisor and Shannon Eastman, the current Worthy Advisor. Mrs. Pafton was recognized as Mother Advisor of the Year at Grand Assembly in 1995. The Assembly now has 28 members and remains a positive influence in our community.
